Profile: In awe of Stratford City's latest crime-fighting superhero, ace reporter Parker Lynn Bailey took a vested interest in Dasien. When the two met, they became close friends and made a pact. Parker would know Dasien's secret identity and would get special in-depth coverage of the Blonde Bombshell's adventures, and Dasien's alter ego, Michelle Knight, would team with Parker for hot stories, sharing headlines between the Stratford City Tribune and Century Magazine at which Michelle was employed. The two have been best friends ever since.
Parker is quite empowered and outgoing, extremely opinionated, and confident in her work. Somewhat of an individualist, she doesn't like to be thought of as a "powerful woman". She's Parker Lynn Bailey, professional journalist; nothing more. In fact, she tends not get along with other women. Aside from Michelle, Parker normally hangs out exclusively with men. Background: I've had a soft spot for girls in glasses ever since I grew up watching Jan Smithers on reruns of WKRP in Cincinnati (Loni was just... ew). In an homage to the beautiful-but-shy type, Parker was supposed to be the introverted and quiet character of the story. After a while, I decided that it would be funnier if she was loud and obnoxious. She's settled down a bit, though. Now she behaves more like Katharine Moennig. Special Appearances: Parker heckles Bob the Barker in Chapter 6 of The Nonstandard Assembly. Parker also made a brief cameo appearance in the Wednesday, June 19, 2002 edition of Stefi Byar's comic, Another Boring Day. The episode can be seen on Stefi's Fan Page. |
