The Origin of Dasien
This page is not part of the first chapter and has nothing to do with the first story arc at all. Originally, it wasn't even to be part of the series. I drew it as an after thought, after several of the first chapter pages had already been done. It's kind of a throw back to the golden age origin stories.
It's not really important, but I thought I owed it to the readers to provide some kind of explanation. I just wanted to get it out of the way and move on to the story that I wanted to tell.
I don't like the usual superpower conventions you find in comicbooks. Radioactivity and mutations don't work that way. Dasien's genetic infusion with virus vectors is still a bit of a stretch, but it's based on real science.
